Event
Cellular Agriculture and Precision Fermentation
Are you interested in the future of food production? Join us at the upcoming Campus Connect event on Thursday, 28 November at Speakers Corner, Impulse on Wageningen Campus. This session will focus entirely on Cellular agriculture & Precision fermentation; breakthrough innovations that offer sustainable alternatives to traditional animal products. Think of meat, seafood and dairy produced by microorganisms or other technologies with a positive impact on people, animals and the environment.
Campus Connect offers a unique opportunity to exchange knowledge and experiences. Professionals from different organisations across our campus come together to share insights and develop new ideas. This session will feature inspiring contributions from:
Kianti Figler: Co-founder Upstream Foods | Seafood without a catch; farming cells instead of animals, a step-wise approach |
---|---|
Ira van Eelen: Co-founder RESPECTfarms | The value is created when cellular meets agriculture |
Etske Bijl: Food scientist, specialized in milk and dairy products at AFSG (WUR) | Using precision fermentation for the production of recombinant caseins and the development of animal-free cheeses |
Maarten Verhoeven: Scientist in industrial microbiology at WFBR (WUR) | Precision fermentation for protein production: how to translate from lab to industrial scale |
Moderated by Simone Ritzer from Wageningen University & Research, we will explore what is needed to scale up these innovative technologies and discuss the regulatory landscape that accompanies them. We’ll also explore how we can learn from one another, share knowledge, and form collaborations that promote advances in Cellular agriculture & Precision fermentation.
After the presentations, there will be networking drinks to connect with experts and colleagues in this field. It is a unique opportunity to network and gain inspiration for your own projects and initiatives.
We look forward to welcoming you!
